Sólstafir from Iceland started as a regular black metal act, but they soon developed their very own sound. Black and viking metal, combined with some rock and very little folk influences, merge to unique masterpieces of extreme music, aggressive and melancholic, and carrying a very intense athmosphere. Though Sólstafir exist since 1995 and released several demos, two eps and two albums, and gained an excelent reputation in the international uderground, they never played out of Iceland before.
